This EP is dedicated to the days between the summer solstice and the autumn equinox. A time of growth and maturation. With the help of rains brought by summer storms, plants spring to life and mature in the span of a few brief months. Animals thrive in the abundance and warmth of the sun. And despite the sweltering heat, those tumultuous days often pass far too quickly.
"Offering" is a simple, two track EP whose beauty extends way past the thirteen minute run time the song offers. Both elegant and mature, at the same time connecting with a relaxing spiritual environment, "Offering" is a release that all neofolk fans should not pass up by far. -Brutal Resonance
"Green Elder is working to paint the Appalachian landscape in sound, both by giving its natural seasonal beauty aural life and its mythical lore an abstract presence." -Sage Weatherford
"The simplicity of the music and the evocative searching of what would seem to be more complex emotions is absolutely heartbreaking and quite simply gorgeous." -Hammer Smashed Sound
"Offering displays a genuine sense of longing for a simpler, more thoughtful way of life, and in a literal sense, for mankind to return to the roots which birthed it. Like the Appalachian mountains that surround its creators, the music of Green Elder is beautiful yet built upon a spirit of untamed savagery." -Bearded Gentlemen Music
"Fans of the Cascadian Folk of Novemthree or the Galician stylings of Sangre de Muerdago take note, this may be right up your alley as it was mine." -Plague Haus
"Green Elder captures what good neofolk is all about. It is simple, haunting, beautiful and inspiring." -Intravenous Magazine
"For a new American folk project, Green Elder shows promise. It’s a burgeoning scene, and various regional folk flavors from Blood & Sun to Kinit Her, Novemthree, and others continue to steal thunder from the European scene. It is with that knowledge that Green Elder appears to be arriving at just the right time. This is subtle and comforting Appalachian folk, with a focus on the natural world rather than literature, folklore, militarism, or tribalism. 8/10" -Heathen Harvest Periodical
"Contemplative, well put together, though not without humility." -Good Good Things: Positive Minded Music Review
"When folk is done right, it can carry the same emotional resonance that Doom or Black Metal brings, and Green Elder are certainly adept at doing that." -Sylvan Screams Analog

An Appalachian ritual folk project that seeks to paint forests in sound, both by giving their natural seasonal beauty aural life and their mythical lore an abstract presence. Each release is carefully crafted by the band. All support is appreciated.
Quiet as the distance grows
in the stillness of the ancient oak
and the streams sing and the mosses grow
Life renews in the pouring rain
Embers ignite a lasting flame
as a robin sits on a old stump
The fallen timber screams of ghosts
as thunder breaks my thoughts
and the streams ring and the rivers flow
Stirring from the well, a restlessness grows
and the storm on the horizon heals my bones
Track Name: Cairn of Starlight
Golden hue upon her breath
Warmth of the sun
Send out secrets
Calling of the lost ones now
Across waves ghosts sail
Life glimmers upon her mouth
Moon so pale
Wash my veins
Cleanse this body clean again
Altar to your words on high
Tides awaken upon her breath
Journey home bound
Giver of life
You who births us all
Blood of the Earth
Heal us now
Cycles continue, life rebirth
Daughter of the waters, moon, and rain
Son of the sun, forest, and plains
